Saved: 375,000 acres of wildlife habitats

Since its foundation in 1989 the World Land Trust has helped purchase and protect over 375,000 acres of threatened wildlife habitats. The map below links to the Trust's current active conservation project areas as well as areas with successfully completed projects and other areas where we have projects partners. In addition to the projects above, the Trust is helping zoos and aquariums get involved in in situ wildlife conservation through its Wild Spaces Programme. Other Projects by the WLT

The WLT is also involved in educational and other projects not involving land purchase and protection. These projects include:

• Books for Conservation Programme, supported by the Natural History Book Service, providing essential text-books and field guides to conservation organisations in developing countries, free of charge.
• Diploma course in Conservation and Project Administration, developed in partnership with the University of East Anglia.
• Focus on Forests, an educational resource for students available as free printed booklets as well as a website.
• Intern Programme, giving recent graduates valuable experience of project development and conservation management.
• Study Tours Programme, providing tailor-made training for senior conservation managers from around the world.
• Wildlife Focus, a multimedia website with wildlife webcam, videos and virtual tours of nature reserves.
